How To Transition To 2019 Like A Boss: Part Four (Resolutions)

    business resolutions

It’s that time again… time to ring in the new year!

You’ve made it through the hard part and right now is the time to just sit back and appreciate where you are and how far you have come. Since it’s the time of year that people make resolutions to better themselves, we thought it would be a good idea to remind you of a couple skills you already have but probably forget about from time to time.

Without further ado, here are five easy business resolutions you should make (and keep) for 2019:

    1. Better Manage Your Finances:

business financesYou’ve just spent a lot of time planning out how you’re going to handle your finances in 2019, so don’t you want to do everything in your power to make sure you are actually going to stick to that plan?

    Of course you do!

Your first priority should simply be to keep up with your finances. It’s as simple as that. Do what you need to do to get it done!

Also, take your time when making financial decisions. It doesn’t matter how big or small the purchase is, just think through all the possible alternatives and follow your gut instincts.

We know how stressful working with finances can be, but you just need to look at it one day at a time. Make as many great decisions as you can today, and don’t stress about tomorrow. (But don’t disregard tomorrow completely because your decisions do have consequences!)

Life really is just a bunch of tiny decisions and you can’t concern yourself with every little thing at once, so slow down, breathe, and go with your gut.

    2. Improve Your Digital Presence:

digital presenceUnless you’ve been living under a rock for the last decade, then you know how big an influence the internet has on our society today.

If you haven’t done so already, think about expanding your digital presence– whether that be through changing your social media routine or adding a new social platform to your list. Doing this will bring in new leads and stronger connections that will ultimately better your business in 2019.

    3. Network More Frequently:

networkingWe’re talking about old fashioned meet and greets, y’all!

As much as we love social media, frequent face-to-face interactions are your best bet for growing your business and making lasting connections that will extend way beyond 2019.

Do some soul searching and find yourself a couple groups that you can really vibe with. Most importantly, don’t just attend once! Make it a priority to attend these meet ups as much as possible and maintain your relationships with the people you meet!

And don’t forget your business cards!

    4. Productivity and Efficiency:

productiveChange is all around us, all the time. Embrace this change and continue molding your company into the company it is meant to be. This will take time, but it will pay off.

Consider implementing (or at least trying) new systems, routines, and business practices quite often.

You may also want to invest in someone who can properly organize and oversee your day-to-day functions. Not only will they increase efficiency, but they will probably save you loads of time and money too.

    5. Communication:

communicationThis skill, by far, is going to help you more than any other. Communication allows for a better, smoother relationship with your team and ensures that you are always working towards your goals.

Really try to improve your communication with your people and your clients next year. It might take a few weeks to figure out what system of communication works best for you, but the payoff is literally infinite.

    Okay, that’s enough for now.

Give yourself a huge pat on the back! You made it through another year of business and regardless of the ups or downs, that is a big thing to celebrate!

Congrats on 2018 and welcome to 2019!

    See you next year!
